The Central Government has made changes to the Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) get easier access to loans. The decision was taken after the Budget 2025-26 with the aim of supporting small manufacturers and strengthening the industrial sector.
Under the revised scheme, MSME companies will be able to get more financial support from banks with reduced risk for lenders. The government said the new rules will make it easier for small businesses to expand their production and create more jobs.
Officials stated that MSMEs play a key role in India’s economy, and improving credit facilities will help them grow faster. The modified guarantee scheme is expected to benefit thousands of small and medium manufacturers across the country.
