At least 13 people lost their lives after a bus collided with a lorry and caught fire in Andhra Pradesh. The accident happened on a highway when the bus crashed into a heavy vehicle, leading to a massive fire. Several passengers were trapped inside the bus as flames spread quickly, causing heavy casualties.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals. Officials said the accident might have occurred due to overspeeding or driver negligence, and an investigation has been started.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the incident and announced financial assistance for the victims. He said that the families of those who died will receive Rs 2 lakh each, while the injured persons will be given Rs 50,000 as support from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
