A political war of words has erupted after Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan strongly responded to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s remarks on Kerala’s governance. Vijayan dismissed the criticism as baseless and advised Reddy to verify facts before making statements.
Highlighting Kerala’s achievements, Vijayan pointed out that the state ranks first in the NITI Aayog SDG Index, with better performance in literacy, healthcare, and poverty reduction compared to many states, including Telangana.
He also criticized delays in salaries and pensions in Telangana, questioning Reddy’s governance. Vijayan further reminded that Telangana officials had previously studied Kerala’s development model, making the criticism contradictory.
