West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has alleged that AIMIM and ISF were responsible for the gherao of judicial officers in Malda district. She further accused both the BJP and the Indian National Congress of instigating the unrest.
Speaking on the issue, Mamata Banerjee questioned why the upcoming Assembly elections cannot be conducted using the same electoral rolls that were used during the 2024 general elections. She raised concerns over changes in voter lists and called for clarity and fairness in the electoral process.
The incident in Malda, where officials involved in voter list verification were reportedly surrounded by protesters, has intensified political tensions in the state. With elections approaching, the blame game among political parties continues to escalate, adding to the already heated political atmosphere in West Bengal.
